Arthrinium arundinis, a Novel Causal Agent of Moso Bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) Culm Rhomboid Rot and Its Sensitivity to Fungicides

چکیده
Culm rhomboid rot is a new disease of Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) and mainly occurs on grown at an altitude above 800 m. The typical symptoms start with black spots irregular shapes, which expand vertically into elongated, fusiform, or shape up to 15 cm in length. Eleven fungal isolates were isolated from infected tissue, the isolate BBB1 was confirmed as pathogen following Koch’s postulates vitro vivo. Regarding morphology, identified Arthrinium sp.–conidia single-celled, brown dark, smooth, globose subglobose, equatorial slit, 5.0–9.3 × 3.1–7.3 μm size. conidiophores reduced conidiogenous cells, pale ampulliform. Phylogenetic analysis based ITS-TEF1-α-TUB2 concatenate sequences A. arundinis. Furthermore, sensitivity against six common fungicides investigated mycelial growth assays. Prochloraz exhibited most potent inhibition EC50 value 0.019 mg/L; another effective fungicide difenoconazole, 0.195 mg/L. This first report arundinis causing culm China; results provide basis for managing rot.

Variation of Parallel-to-Grain Compression and Shearing Properties in Moso Bamboo Culm (Phyllostachys pubescens)
As an abundant natural resource in Asia, bamboo is receiving increased attention as an engineering material due to its renewability and excellent strength. The parallel-to-grain compression and shearing properties of moso bamboo culm were examined. The growth characteristics (bamboo age, nodes, and location along the culm), as well as treatments for practical applications (hole punching and hoo...
متن کاملTranscriptome Sequencing and Analysis of the Fast Growing Shoots of Moso Bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis)
BACKGROUND The moso bamboo, a large woody bamboo with the highest ecological, economic, and cultural value of all bamboos, has one of the highest growth speeds in the world. Genetic research into moso bamboo has been scarce, partly because of the lack of previous genomic resources. In the present study, for the first time, we performed de novo transcriptome sequencing and mapped to the moso bam...

Genome-wide identification and expression analysis of the IQD gene family in moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis).
Members of the plant-specific IQ67-domain (IQD) protein family are involved in various aspects of normal plant growth and developmental processes as well as basal defence response. Although hundreds of IQD proteins have been identified, only a small number of IQDs have been functionally characterized. Moreover, no systematic study has been performed on moso bamboo. In this study, we performed f...
